@Extra_050: I must have been really young when I saw this if it really came out in the '80s (I assume as a repeat, as there's no way I'd remember it from 1985) but the image of that woman, Miss Murgatroyd shouting, "She wasn't there" before being strangled in her garden with washing and then Miss Blacklock trying to drown her cook, followed shortly by Miss Hinchcliffe snarling, "I want to kill you" (I recognised the actress who played her then from Forever Green ) has stuck in my mind for years. I just never really knew from where until recently.
@RosieLydgate: This is an excellent adaptation from the book and I've watched it a number of times in different formats. There is an odd change though. In the book Miss Murgatroyd's murder happens in the afternoon; the change to the morning means some details and the alibis don't make so much sense. It is still fun though, and the casting is perfect.
@mrsinghsstereos6662: I just finished reading the book and now I’m watching the adaptation again . Re watching these episodes reminds me of growing up in west london where the whole family would get together to watch Joan hicksons masterful portrayal
@andrewmcwilliam4398: This is an absolute masterpiece. I remember being hooked in 1985 and 40 years later I’m still hooked. Joan Hickson IS Miss Marple….and the ending of part one always gives me goosebumps! Just brilliant!
@skg069: This has always been my favorite Miss Marple story and the murder of Miss Murgatroyd was always the most tragic to me. I feel so deeply for Miss Hinchcliff, who very obviously loved her so much.
