Spider-Noir Episodes 1-3 Part 1 Premiere Reaction & Breakdown with Greg Alba, Coy Jandreau, and Aaron Alexander! Spider-Noir Full Series Uncut Watch Along:

    — Support The Channel By Getting Some REEL REJECTS Apparel!
In this comprehensive television review and reaction, Greg, Coy, and Aaron break down the gritty Great Depression-era world of an aging, weary hero. We unpack the stellar performances of the incredible main cast, including Nicolas Cage (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Longlegs) as the cynical, down-on-his-luck private investigator Ben Reilly, Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Fargo) as the sharp, ambitious Daily Bugle reporter Robbie Robertson, and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin, Braveheart) as the intimidating Irish mob boss Silvermane.
Our hosts react to all the gorgeous German expressionism aesthetics, brilliant split-diopter shots, and sharp dialogue that make this alternate universe look and feel incredibly authentic. We dissect the shocking, explosive death of Addison the Molten Man, the alluring introduction of lounge singer Cat Hardy at the Alcove, and the terrifying body-horror sand transformations of Flint Marko. We also dive into Ben Reilly’s hilarious undercover maintenance-man sequence to reclaim his iconic suit from his old apartment, his organic web-shooting tactics, and the genius final act where he completely outsmarts the dirty henchman Winston by tracking Silvermane’s marked currency. From the haunting sound design to the deep personal connections tying these classic villains to a shared wartime past, this three-episode premiere gives our hosts an absolute web of mystery to unpack.
As we continue our complete television retrospective marathons, we are evaluating the stylized pacing, narrative risks, and cinematic weight of this incredible pulpy detective thriller.

@RabbiSteve1: This was a great reaction from all three of you, both during and after. I am loving this show. I’m an episode ahead of you. And it gets better and better with each episode. Coy, you have never seen CHINATOWN?!? You owe it to yourself to do so. And especially since you are watching this. You might even decide to do this as a reaction video. It is arguably the greatest of the “Neo-noirs” (anything noirish, post 1960). As with most Neo-noir, it’s in color and it’s one of the most beautifully shot Neo-noirs ever. And there are many references to it in SPIDER-NOIR. Specifically, his first client here hiring him to get photos of his wife cheating. That’s right out of the beginning of CHINATOWN. I think you will really like it. And it’s one of the best and more subtle performances Jack Nicholson. And you might find it valuable to invest in more both classic noir (eg OUT OF THE PAST, THE BIG SLEEP, THE MALTESE FALCON, DOUBLE INDEMNITY, DETOUR, THE HITCHHIKER, TOUCH OF EVIL, MURDER MY SWEET, to name just a few. And check out KING CREOLE, arguably the best Elvis movie ever and maybe the only noir musical. Directed by the great Michael Curtiz, who directed about 180 movies, including CASABLANCA, and THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN) and Neo-noir (eg POINT BLANK, CHINATOWN, THE LONG GOODBYE, NIGHT MOVES, NARROW MARGIN [which is a “train noir”, and a remake of another classic, THE NARROW MARGIN], TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA, BODY HEAT, and many more).I know that your main thing is superheroes and comics, but it’s good for those of you who make your living doing this, or at least part of it, to get more cineliterate, with some of the genres that are so important to cinema history, such as noir and Westerns (which themselves are such a strong part of American literature, comic books, and especially movie and tv history). It’s just a suggestion and I get it if you just can’t find the time or the motivation. But I think it’s good to become more familiar with that stuff.

@papahamdrew: 28:22 I don’t know how you’re still confused. Ben literally said in the first episode that he “can see the lights from Jersey” which borders NYC, and the Empire State building and Chrysler building are both visible. How you didn’t know this was NYC till now is mind boggling. Even the opening scene swinging between buildings. LA looked nothing like that in the 1930s, even having a height requirements on buildings. I swear these guys never pay attention, only looking for comic references and trying to act like big critics but can’t even notice the setting 💀

@mikedignum1868: A great show i binged it in B&W, got to bed at 4am. So the great depression was 29-39 and Ben was probably in his 30s during World War I. So, the Spider is in his late 40s to 50s? Which explains Ben's world weary attatude and physicality, but Spidey is very flexible and agile, which needs explaining. Also, why the name change from the Spider-verse movie…is this another universe from that Spider-Noir Peter Parker?

@ReelRejects: SPIDER-NOIR (B&W) 4-6 REACTION: Cage fully leaning into a hardboiled, gun-toting 1930s Spider-Man is exactly the kind of glorious pulp fiction we love to break down! @S.KH4N: Man this was great I really hope they get season2 ngl I did watch this in colour cuz it just appealed to me and cuz all the reactions was In black and white so I knew I get to watch a lot in black and white when I watch these reactions but it does effect the mood of this show a lot

In April 2024, it was reported that Spielberg’s next project would be a UFO film, with Koepp writing the screenplay. Within the next few months, Universal Pictures was announced as distributor and Blunt was cast in the lead role. Filming took place from February to May 2025 in New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta.

Disclosure Day premiered at Le Grand Rex in Paris on June 2, 2026,[4] and will be theatrically released in the United States on June 12, 2026.[5]

@MappingOutMyTheories: No word of a lie, no joke. From the moment they released the first trailer for this movie, I immediately knew that it was going to be offensive to Christians.FATH VS RELIGIONI'm not a religious person, but I consider myself a Christian/follower of Christ (i.e. somebody who has a relationship with YHWH, God of The Bible, via Jesus Christ). I don't fall victim to/feel offended by the tropes and depictions of Catholicism/Protestantism because there is a religiosity around Protestants and Catholics that doesn't apply to somebody like myself who can + does distinguish between faith and religion. For example, the concept of having to go to church every Sunday, etc. I'm somebody who prays in private, who reads the Bible, who has Christian friends that engage in Bible study and worship together. My faith impacts my life in a way that has shaped the type of person I aim to be, with one of the highest tenets of my faith being trust in YHWH — i.e. not leaning on my own understanding/taking the judgment or retribution of others into my own hands.Essentially, I'm not a societal interventionist- but I do believe in helping people, even those that you don't agree with, and I believe the highest calling for all humans is self-sacrificial love.HOW THIS RELATES TO THE MOVIEI've laid out all of these parameters because… Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that claim to be Christian (or believe that Catholicism IS biblical Christianity) that do not follow these tenets. And so, in the case of the events that this movie is proposing, such individuals would likely fall victim to a lot of the offensive depictions of Christians in the movie.I have two responses to this.FIRST:Anyone who considers themselves a believer in Christ who would fall victim to these types of manipulations (aliens as gods) whether real or not real, can't really consider themselves a BIBLICAL Christian to begin with.SECOND:This movie's intentions are incredibly sinister — as in it is actively attempting to dissuade and discourage people from belief in a higher power by the means of worshipping aliens. This is nothing new. Zachariah Sitchin first posited the 'ancient alien' theory decades ago. Look it up — his theory, mind you, was based on a mistranslation of the Hebrew Torah (Michael S. Heiser among others debunked it).TO CONCLUDE:So before I go on to a tangent about the pseudo-intellectualism of ancient alien theory, let me just finish by saying this. If you believe in a God because of your upbringing, because of institutions, you don't really believe in a God, you're being religious.Belief in God is not predicated on anything other than your personal relationship with God. For me, I have prayed and have my prayers answered. I have read the entire Bible — twice — and found the words of the Bible to ring true in my own life. Don't be shaken by the same trick that humans have fallen victim too thousands of times before:"When you look up to the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars – the whole heavenly creation – you must not be seduced to worship and serve them."Deuteronomy 4:19"How foolish are those who manufacture idols […] Who but a fool would make his own god— an idol that cannot help him one bit? […] Then he takes what’s left and makes his god: a carved idol! He falls down in front of it, worshiping and praying to it. “Rescue me!” he says. “You are my god!”Isaiah 44:9Just leaving this comment here for anyone who would come across this review or the movie and feel disturbed/distressed by the topic of the movie.

@vijant1395: Spielberg, John Williams, UFO’s Alien Disclosure….what could go wrong? Hmmm well it turns out quite a lot actually. I love Spielberg and I’m a huge UFO enthusiast so I was ready to absolutely love this movie but sadly I have to say this movie really disappointed. Something about it felt dated not nostalgic…the first half of the movie was just a caper chase movie with just a hint at what’s to come. The second half of the movie did improve and brought some much needed lift in terms of scope, intrigue and interest but ultimately it just didn’t deliver on the big notes…it missed a great opportunity to really delve into the real impact of alien disclosure but instead opted for a really poorly executed cliched anti climax that felt lazy and ineffective in impact. The cgi was surprisingly poor too, and although the score was serviceable it’s definitely not one of John Williams best…nowhere near…think Spielberg misjudges the demand of a movie going viewer, we demand more in terms of ingenuity and depth but sadly none of that is present in this movie…unfortunately not so much Disclosure Day more like Disappointment Day

@rubb3rm4n53: I watched this movie with my younger brother and walked out of the movie with him saying he hated it. I proceeded to sound exactly like Coy to him, breaking down every Spielberg movie and the John Williams collabs since the 70’s…I love cinema and this wasn’t just a movie, it was an experience that I’m glad I got to witness . The last 30-minutes I was on the edge of my seat with my jaw almost touching the floor. I stood until the very end just to hear that Williams score, hopefully it’s not his last but I sat and injested it knowing I was witnessing a composition from the greatest to ever do it.

@hussd21: Saw the movie last night (at the time of writing this) , Spielberg has not lost a step in creating a character driven story that features a ton of spectacle, Emily Blunt is a powerhouse, the John Williams score is moving, I give the film an 8/10. As for my top 5 Spielberg films: 1. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade 2. Jurassic Park 3. Jaws 4. Raiders of Lost Ark5. Minority Report

@maripire: Hey Coy! As usual, love your positive take and light. Saw the movie on Friday (with live Q&A stream with Emily and Steven). Loved it. One thing I haven’t heard people comment on enough and that it was amazing to me were the camera movements and the long takes. AMAZING! Would love to know more of how they were made

Is Foggy Really Dead In Daredevil: Born Again?🤔 daredevil daredevilbornagain disneyplus marvel

Is Foggy Nelson really dead in Daredevil: Born Again? In Episode 1, we saw him get shot by Bullseye, lose a lot of blood, and his heart stop beating. But a hidden Easter egg in the episode suggests he might not actually be dead!

The law firm’s address includes the number 468, a reference to Daredevil Issue 468, where Foggy fakes his own death as part of an FBI witness protection plan. Could the show be setting up a similar twist? This theory has fans speculating that Foggy’s death was staged and he might return later in the series!

What do you think? Is Foggy really gone, or will he make a shocking comeback? Let us know in the comments!

@Pbj4life938: 468 is NOT a clear reference to that comic, because you have to counts backwards from when the series restarted.

@lazyliger8740: i hope he is alive but why would it be bullseye who helps stage his death that makes no sense what so ever

@鄧焯文: If foggy don't die , daredevil born again only be pg 13 , is that what you want? Think about it hero.

    @Wasim-q8j: I hope he's alive but I don't even know who's foggy
